With a reputation of high-quality work and attention to detail, Thomas Kresge is a professional musician with experience in almost all facets of the music-making process, taking on an endless number of labels including composer, arranger, orchestrator, copyist, saxophonist, music producer, recording session contractor, band manager, conductor, mix engineer, and educator. His list of credits spans all corners of the music business, including films, television, video games, musical theater, pop music production, and live concerts, with experience in various orchestral and electronic genres.
Well-versed in writing orchestral, jazz, pop, and electronic music, Thomas’s recent composing credits include the music for the officially licensed pinball tables of Toy Story 4 and The Godfather, produced by Jersey Jack Pinball, as well as composing additional music on the Lifetime films Christmas in Scotland and Living with My Mother's Killer. He also wrote the all-electronic score for Spygames, a live group gaming experience located in New York City.
Thomas has deep experience in orchestration, arranging, and music preparation, holding a particularly geeky fondness for the intricacies and nuances of music notation and engraving. His speed and reliability have made him a favorite among his clients, which include Maclaine Diemer (Guild Wars 2: Secrets of the Obscure), Marco Beltrami (Silent Night [dir. by John Woo], The Royal Stunt, Waiting for the Barbarians, The Shadow in My Eye, Nine Perfect Strangers, Bach by Beltrami), Diana Ross (Diana Ross with the National Symphony, Diana Ross Live at the Hollywood Bowl: Opening Night 2018, NBC's Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting), Michael James Scott (concert tour), Disney (The Incredibles 2 trailer campaign), Jacob Yoffee (Kohl's trailer campaign), and Robby Duguay (Broken Spectre, Treetop Adventure), among others, as well as fully arranging and orchestrating the scores for a number of musicals, including lead orchestrations on the upcoming new musical, Girl in Flight, composed by Bobby Brader. He is the go-to music engraver for many composers and bandleaders, and the primary editor for BYTHAX Publishing.

Perhaps Thomas’s biggest passion is arranging, the activity that first started his journey into music-making, with hours of published (and unpublished) arrangements under his belt. An upcoming album with professional studio-recorded arrangements from the Banjo-Kazooie series will showcase his jazz big band arranging chops. Since 2018, Thomas has served as The Game Brass’s primary arranger, producer, mix engineer, and manager, leading them through eight studio albums, over one hundred music videos, and a live performance on the coveted Main Stage at MAGFest 2023 where he conducted the ensemble. The Game Brass albums Snowtopia, Brassino Isles, and the 2020 GANG Award-Winning Brasslevania were all fully arranged, mixed, and produced by Thomas, with additional arrangements contributed to their albums A Link to the Brass, Brass Effect, and The Brass Indie Expo. Many of his symphonic arrangements will soon be remastered and rereleased.
Outside of writing and arranging, Thomas has perfected the art of managing and mixing remote musicians and ensembles. He works as a session musician contractor, connecting composers with home recording artists to produce scores of any size, with almost any instrument you can imagine. Himself a woodwind player and pianist, Thomas also provides professional recordings on alto saxophone, baritone saxophone, and flute. A regular educator, Thomas continues to spend time teaching students from toddlers to adults on piano, woodwinds, trumpet, music theory, and composition.
Thomas earned his Bachelor of Music at George Mason University before receiving his Master’s in Film Scoring at the Seattle Film Institute (Pacific Northwest Film Scoring Program) under the mentorship of Hummie Mann. Originally from Boise, Idaho, Thomas now resides in New York with his wife, singer-actress Helen Jane Planchet, with the two making frequent trips to their original professional home base of Los Angeles.
